The Sweet Spot

Have you noticed that there are some people you just can’t reach? You can’t tell them anything. I often think my kids should be supporting me since they obviously know everything already. Experience and education amount to nothing against the all-encompassing “I know” argument. I wish I knew that much when I was younger, it would have made life a lot easier…but then again, I bet if you asked my folks they’d probably tell you I knew it all too. Let’s just not ask them.

I guess there must be a “sweet spot” to knowledge and I can’t wait till I find it. Come on, you know what I mean. When we’re tiny we know nothing, then magically we know everything (but, obviously, not really). Then as we mature we figure out that we really don’t know much. At some point we start figuring things out and gain that wisdom of ripe old age, then we promptly lose our minds. Some people are on the accelerated track and just go straight to nuts, but at what age does that sweet spot come in? I can’t wait!
