Second Chances

“You never get a second chance to make a first impression.” Andrew Grant.

Usually in this life, true second chances are rare. If you use the wrong words, they can’t be unheard. If you wrong someone, they may forgive but they rarely forget. If you do something illegal, it often sticks with you forever. If you do, by some great fluke, get a second chance, how often do you get a 3rd, 4th or 10th? Not likely.

That is the beauty of the love of my Lord! God sacrificed his own son so that his blood would erase our errors. That’s right, the blood of Christ continually–not once, not twice, but continually…eternally– cleanses us of our sins as long as we believe in him, are baptized into his death and wholeheartedly repent of our sins–our wrongdoings. That doesn’t mean you won’t sin; you can’t sin or you’re out of the club. We do screw up and we will always screw up, it’s inevitable. But he’s already forgiven us, wiped the slate clean. Forgiven and forgotten. As long as we are trying, trying to make the right choices and trying to do better he will always forgive us. He already forgave not only the things you’ve done but also the things you’re going to do! How amazing is that!  He hasn’t lost faith in you, have you lost yours in Him?

If you aren’t a believer, what better sales pitch could there ever be? Not that God actually needs one, He has the best marketing plan I’ve ever seen (have you looked at the beauty that surrounds you lately???). Again I say, how amazing is that (is He!!)!!!

“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.” 1John 7

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” 1John 9
